The Medium Letterbox is a happy middle ground in our letterbox product range. Crafted from premium quality Australian metal and cut with a variety of patterns, this statement piece is a great addition to any home.

1000 mm H x 400 mm W x 350 mm D.
Available with either a flat or raked roof
- Mild steel weight: 40kg
- Powder Coated aluminium weight: 20kg
Mail chute is fully lockable with rear access.
Features a weather strip above the letter slot to keep rain out.
Base plate included for secure installation.

Added Extras:

Add frosted perspex for enhanced aesthetic appeal (2 or 3 sides)
Optional newspaper cylinder

The Medium Letterbox is fully personalised and made to order. Therefore, it may take up to 3-4 weeks to design and fabricate. See our Shipping & Returns policy for more info.

There are two ways to order:

Online (Standard Designs): You can order directly via our website at https://ironbarkstaging.easierit.com.au/product-category/letter-box/.
Important: Please view the Dulux Colour Swatches here (https://duluxpowders.com.au/colour/) and list your chosen Colour Name and House Number in the “Order Notes” section at checkout.

Custom Orders: For custom designs, we will issue an invoice for a 50% deposit. Once paid, we create a computer mock-up for your approval. Fabrication takes approximately 3–5 weeks, and the remaining balance is due prior to dispatch.

Preferred Size / Dimensions (Compact, Medium, Standard, or Wide Form).
Material (Cor-Ten steel or powder-coated aluminium).
Pattern choice and placement.
House number (including font preference) and placement.
Add-ons such as frosted perspex, internal lighting, newspaper cylinders, or parcel boxes.
Delivery address for a shipping estimate.

Base prices for letterboxes (excluding delivery and optional add-ons) are typically:

Compact (3mm Cor-Ten): $650.00 inc GST
Medium (3mm Cor-Ten): $820.00 inc GST
Medium (3mm Powder-Coated Aluminium): $1,010.00 inc GST
Standard (3mm Powder-Coated Aluminium): $1,250.00 inc GST
Wide Form (3mm Powder-Coated Aluminium): $2,250.00 inc GST

The main options are Cor-Ten steel (which develops a natural rust patina) and powder-coated aluminium (available in the full range of Dulux powder coat colours). We can also create customised letterboxes in 316 Grade stainless steel, Copper & Brass.

Yes, you can choose any font for the house number. You simply need to advise us of the font name (unless you choose one of the standard options displayed on our website).

The prices for common letterbox add-ons are:

Frosted Perspex: Ranges from $80.00 (Compact, front only) to $180.00 (Standard, 2 sides)
Newspaper Cylinder: $120
Powder-Coated Mail Faceplate: $150
Rear-Opening Parcel Box: $400 for Standard size or $500 for Custom/Large sizes
Internal Lighting: Starting at $350 depending on the size of the letterbox

The dedicated parcel box is accessed from the rear and secured with a 3-digit combination lock. You provide the code to couriers, who use it to deposit parcels and then spin the lock to re-secure the door.

Yes, you can choose to have an enlarged rear access mail flap instead of a full parcel box for an additional fee (e.g., approx $150 inc GST on a Medium letterbox).

Yes, for Medium, Standard & Wide Form letterboxes, the pattern can wrap from the front to the sides. However, the Compact letterbox design (1000mm H x 300mm W x 300mm D) does not allow for pattern wrapping.

We strongly recommend frosted perspex because:

It makes the pattern and house number stand out clearly during the day
It evenly disperses internal light at night
It restricts insects and spiders from entering
It conceals the internal parcel box from view

The letterbox is secured to a concrete pad (we recommend a pad approx 50mm larger than the letterbox perimeter and 50mm deep) using the removable internal fixing plate (supplied) that is then dynabolted to the concrete pad.

We generally do not offer installation outside Wollongong NSW. However, installation is a simple job that a local handyman or landscaper can easily complete.

To accelerate the rusting process, dissolve a handful of table salt into 500mL of white vinegar. Apply this solution to the surface in a shady space and allow the patina to develop over a few hours.

The most cost-effective method is delivery to your nearest courier depot. Residential delivery is available but costs more and may include freight warranty insurance depending on your location.

Yes we can install it, starting at $350. We recommend using a solar option (like Gardenglo from Bunnings). However, the letterbox design includes an allowance (hole in the base plate) for you to install your own hardwired or low-voltage lighting if preferred.

We do not recommend 240 volt lighting with any of our products due to safety concerns. You can use low-voltage hardwired or solar lighting, but it is best to discuss specific electrical options with a licensed electrician or local lighting supplier. We can advise on the installation of strip lighting if you are including a parcel box.

Yes, the letterbox design includes an allowance for internal lighting. The internal fixing plate features a hole (e.g., 100mm diameter) for the light or cable to pass through.

To install hardwired lighting, you must remember to make an allowance for the cord or cable to come up through the concrete pad by running a small piece of flexible conduit through the formwork before pouring.

We can provide custom quotes for fitting 12V strip lighting around the front cutout design. This is a custom feature and prices will vary based on the complexity of the order (e.g., an additional ~ $350 – $450 for a standard letterbox).
